Our Journey:
From Fire, Loss, and Isolation to SoIndigo LLC
SoIndigo LLC was founded by mother–daughter duo, Zarida and Aliza, whose journey began long before the brand had a name.
In July 2019, they survived a 5-alarm house fire that destroyed their home and everything in it. Even after losing their belongings and memories, Zarida was determined to keep life as steady as possible for her high-energy, creative daughter. While working on production sets and acting jobs, she made sure Aliza could still dance at multiple studios, continue child acting, stay in Girl Scouts, and experience the outdoors through beaches and parks.
Just as they began rebuilding, the COVID-19 pandemic arrived, bringing isolation, loss, and another wave of disruption. After the passing of parents and a growing sense that life needed to be rebuilt on their own terms, they made the courageous decision to start over in Northeast Pennsylvania — this time from the bottom.
Out of that journey, SoIndigo was born. Using her 9–5 paychecks, Zarida slowly invested in transforming a simple idea into a luxe, performing-arts-inspired ecosystem. What began with sweatshirts, hoodies, tote bags, and accessories evolved into a brand that blends the fashion and performing arts feel of New York City with the heart of NEPA.
Today, SoIndigo stands for resilience, creativity, and belonging. It blends purple (Zarida’s favorite color) and blue (Aliza’s favorite color) with the innovative spirit of the indigo child. Together, Zarida and Aliza are building a space where performers and creatives—of any race, age, background, or level—can feel seen, respected, acknowledged, and encouraged.
